• GLAUCOMA - An insidious medical condition that can lead to compromised vision and result in blindness if not diagnosed early and properly treated. Here I document my experiences to perhaps benefit others similarly afflicted in the future.

My life has been impacted by glaucoma for nearly 40 years. I post here the series of events in chronological order as they occurred and will need to update from time to time since this is a condition that I will be buried with at which time I will not post any thing further. Perhaps this story will be of benefit to other suffers and how I deal with it on a day to day basis.

If you read nothing else, read My "lucky" diagnosis. It is a cautionary tale on how I dodged a bullet and how you, if you ever have a similar experience, may be informed that it is serious.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor nor am I trained or qualified to give any medical advice. What I describe in these posts and what I did about it are my experience only and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice should you observe any similar symptoms. If you suspect any issue with your eyes, without delay you must consult a qualified opthamologist and follow their advice .

Note that this section is a work in progress. I will continue to add the relevant events of my ongoing glaucoma condition and the various medical procedures that I have been through so far to give further background. I will get to the story of my most recent eye surgery, yet another trabeculectomy in my right eye on March 15, 2024 that I am in rocovery phase from as I write this.
